- Lot Description
Handwoven coiled basket of rectangular, slightly oval form, executed in natural and dyed fibers. The exterior features a geometric polychrome design in light tan, dark brown, and black tones arranged in vertical and stepped motifs. The basket displays tight, even stitching and a well-defined structure, with a flat, oval base transitioning to gently flaring sides.
A looped fiber element is present at the rim, possibly for suspension or handling. Interior shows consistent coiling with areas of expected wear from use. The rim is intact with minor irregularities and light wear consistent with age.
