- Lot Description
Black felt western hat, Stetson, mid-20th century. The hat of typical cattleman form with creased crown and wide brim, fitted with a leather hatband mounted with rows of rounded metal studs. Interior retains original Stetson liner with printed logo. A well-used example of classic American Western headwear.
This lot may be picked up free of charge from our facilities in Sacramento, CA. Processing and shipping within the Continental US $55.00. All FedEx packages are sent with Direct Signature Required and insured at full replacement value for a fee of 1.5% of the purchase price, unless buyer accepts complete liability in writing. Condition
The hat shows overall heavy wear consistent with prolonged use. The felt surface exhibits dust accumulation, scattered spotting, and areas of thinning and surface abrasion. The brim is slightly misshapen with soft waviness and minor edge wear. The leather hatband shows cracking, dryness, and wear to the surface, with some distortion and aging to the studded decoration. The interior liner is present but significantly deteriorated, with creasing, discoloration, and breakdown of the protective covering over the logo. Sweatband shows age-related wear and darkening.
