Framed lithograph in colors on Arches paper, "Le Peintre Devant le Village I (The Painter Before the Village I)," pencil signed lower right Marc Chagall (Marc [Moishe Shagal] Chagall, 1887-1985), numbered 42/ 75, Arches blindstamp at upper left corner, Mourlot number 603, December 1969, inscribed in pencil T815 verso, sheet affixed to mat along upper edge, possibly trimmed, sheet: approx 24.25"h, 18.25"w, sight: approx 20"h, 14.75"w, overall: approx 27.5"h, 22.5"w, 7.25lbs **Provenance: the contents of a fine 1960s Paris, France apartment** **Note authenticated by the WUYT Chagall Research Center, Amsterdam, April 27, 2026**

4.14.26- In my opinion regarding LOT: please note that I am not an expert on such prints, the work is executed on Arches paper and is presented as a signed and numbered edition, the sheet is overall intact with no evidence of loss or restoration observed, it is hinged along the top edge with an adhesive strip, possibly archival tape, the sheet may have been trimmed as there are very slight variations to the sheet size visible along either side of the margins, however I am unsure, please see images for reference, the sheet is toned exhibiting only a few scattered minute spots and light areas of handling wear, the image remains crisp with strong color, all consistent with age, handling, and display Detailed condition reports are not included in this catalog.
