- Lot Description
Framed tempera painting on Masonite board, "Red Brick Wall" (Daughter of Charity walking in front of a brick archway), signed lower left Robert Vickrey (Robert Remsen Vickrey, American, 1926-2011), label verso from Midtown Galleries, 11 East 57th Street, New York, exhibition labels for Tulsa Collects and Fine Arts Gallery San Diego (1973), sight: approx 11 1/8"h, 7 1/8"w, overall: 19.25"h, 15.25"w, 4lbs
Condition
CR 9.2.25 - In my opinion regarding LOT: 1218- the work remains intact and securely held within the frame, a UV light examination was largely unremarkable showing only a minute pen point size gouge near the upper right arch of the wall which I confirmed with a jeweler’s loupe and is not readily apparent, please see image for reference, the colors remain well defined and vibrant with clarity typical of works executed in tempera, the board is solid showing no evidence of repair or restoration and no significant loss observed, the linen liner shows expected discoloration and dirt, the frame is stable exhibiting overall wear including paint loss, rubs, and tonal variation, I also note what appears to be evidence of old woodworm throughout
