- Lot Description
1963 President John Kennedy and Chuck Connors White House silver gelatin photograph taken at the White House on September 11, 1963. Kennedy Library records confirm the meeting on this date. Connors was at the peak of his fame, his series The Rifleman having been canceled earlier in the year. The caption written in Kennedy's hand to Connors reads, With warm personal regards, John Kennedy. A letter from David Foster to President Kennedy dated September 18, 1963 further substantiates the meeting. I surmise that that the third man in the photograph is indeed Foster. The back of the frame bears the Chuck Connors estate sticker and auction lot.
