Approximately .22 caliber, with four vertical stacking 1.5" barrels. The right side of the bottom barrel is engraved 5494, and the left side is marked with a Liege proof and another proof. The left side of the frame is engraved Warnant . The border of the frame features an engraved fishscale pattern, with floral scrolls in the center on either side. The barrel block is hinged and tips up for loading, with each barrel firing in succession by a moving firing pin. All iron construction with checkered grips. A nearly identical pistol appears on page 243 of Lewis Winant's book Firearms Curiosa .
The patina of the iron is mostly a flat gray, with areas of original blue finish in protected areas. The bores are good, and the pistol functions mechanically.
