Capehart Record Cabinet
American, ca 1927-1939. A record cabinet in mixed woods, with crossbanding to top and drawer fronts, and the whole with beaded and guilloche ornament, having a slight demilune central section and conforming upper doors with floral inlay, the lower doors opening to a speaker behind a carved wood screen, all flanked by four storage compartments, and rising on short fluted legs. Capehart plaque to interior; ht. 42.5, wd. 42.5, dp. 22 in.
Accompanied by a signed photograph of Ramón Franco (1896-1938), brother of General Francisco Franco. Ramón is purported to have once owned the cabinet.
