Set of Six (4 +2) Irish Carved Mahogany Dining Chairs, late 19th c, the Chippendale style arched shield back with a central pierced vertical splat, above period red leather cushioned seats with iron tack decoration, on carved cabriole legs with ball and claw feet, Sides- H.- 38 in., W.- 20 in., D.- 21 in. Arms- H.- 39 in., W.- 22 1/2 in., D.- 23 in. Provenance: British Antiques, Magazine St., New Orleans, Louisiana.Condition consistent with age and use. Seat height is 20 inches. Leather is heavily worn with seats having rips and some with large tares. Wood is in great condition with some minor surface scratches throughout and wear to varnish.
