Chinese Tang-Style Bronze Horse Sculpture
20th century
Cast bronze with verdigris patina
No visible signature
Height 15 1/2 x width 19 x depth 4 inches.
Presented with all four hooves grounded, emphasizing the horse's power, solidity, and stability. Original Chinese Tang Dynasty pottery horse figures were traditionally used as tomb guardians or accessories.
