Le Pastoral de Saint Charles Borromee' is a hagiographical book about the life of Charles Borromeo, a 16th century Cardinal and Archbishop of Milan who was a central figure in the counter-reformation movement within the Catholic church at the time. After his death he was revered as a Saint and was officially canonized by Pope Paul V in 1610, just 26 years after his death in 1584.
This book frames the life of Borromeo in the style of a 'Pastoral', with Borromeo being a shepherd and his congregation being the flock. Appended to this work are the acts of the Church of Milan from his time, as well a list of his maxims on various ecclesiastical topics.
Affixed to the front pastedown is an old label which reads 'No. 2 Th. Feugiu'.
This French translation was published in 1697 by Jean Certe of Lyon.
