- Lot Description
Dagger (qama or kindjal) complete with scabbard and skinning knife. The wide blade is double-edged with a single groove on each side. It is decorated with gold inlay forming a floral motif and Arabic inscriptions. The handle scales are made of carved horn dyed green. The iron fittings and handle studs are decorated with gold inlay. The scabbard is made of two wooden scales covered in black stitched leather.
Caucasus, 1830-1850.
L: 20.5 in. (52.07 cm.);
Condition
Good with expected signs of wear. Some leather has flaked off of the scabbard. Probable repair work on small part of grip scale. Gold inlay has slightly faded.
