- Lot Description
A richly enameled porcelain box features a rectangular form with brass mountings and a hinged lid. The exterior is entirely hand-painted in a Neoclassical or Romantic style, depicting women and children in colorful attire engaged in various activities. Each panel is framed within architectural Gothic niches or columns, with a lid painted in a similar scenic theme. The base bears a blue underglaze crowned “N†mark in the style of the Capodimonte porcelain tradition. Late 19th century.8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 3 1/4 in., (21.5 x 11 x 8.5 cm.)Good overall with a small crack to the lid.
