A finely crafted European cigar cutter composed of a curved natural tusk handle mounted with a polished silver cutting mechanism. The handle is carved from a single tapered section of tusk displaying natural grain, age striations, and warm patina, mounted at the terminal with a faceted silver collar and square-section cigar cutting head fitted with a guillotine-style hinged blade. The steel blade stamped Solingen, indicating manufacture in the German cutlery center renowned for edged tools and smoking accessories. The silver mounts marked 925, denoting the Continental sterling silver standard.
L: 9 3/8 in., (23.8 cm.)
Good overall condition. Expected surface wear and light oxidation to the silver mounts. Minor staining and age lines to the tusk handle are consistent with natural material. Blade is functional.
