- Lot Description
A hand-carved coquilla nut snuffbox depicting two people in profile, one appears to be a woman with her hair in a bun, the other appears to be a cardinal wearing a zucchetto and cassock. To the other side is a large eagle with its wings outspread. All against a background with various carved geometric patterns. Italy, early 19th century.L: 2 1/2 in. (6.5 cm)Good for age. Some miniscule cracks and chips in places. Cap no longer extant.
