AMERICAN DECORATED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, approximately two-gallon capacity, graceful ovoid form with two incised shoulder rings, flared flat-top rim, and arched handles, brown-slip glazed interior. Brushed cobalt primitive tree decoration, additional cobalt at handle terminals. Possibly western Pennsylvania. Circa 1840-1860. 12" H, 5 1/2" D rim.
