STAMPED "CHARLESTOWN", BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, approximately two-gallon capacity, bold ovoid form with multiple incised rings below the flared neck, upright open-loop handles, and beaded foot, brown-slip glazed interior. Three impressed hearts below the stamp, iron-oxide drip to base, rim, and handles. Attributed to Frederick Carpenter (1771-1827). Circa 1810. 14" H, 5 5/8" D rim. Undamaged except for a shallow chip to inner chip and a small spall to side of one handle.
