HICKERSON / (STAR) / STRASBURG / VIRGINIA.", SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA DECORATED STONEWARE PITCHER, salt-glazed, "1 1/2" gallon capacity mark, baluster-form body with beaded shoulder, cylindrical neck, rounded rim, strap handle, and flared foot. Brushed cobalt dropped flower flanked by feathers below spout and three-petal leaves flanking spout. The pottery of James M. Hickerson (1833-1902). Circa 1880-1900. 12" H, 5 1/2" D rim.
