WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA OVERSIZED DECORATED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, brushed "12" gallon capacity, cylindrical form with a slight shoulder, arched handles, rounded flat-top rim, and Albany-slip glazed interior. Brushed cobalt stripes and commas from rim extending to base, capacity mark flanked by additional striping, and surrounding handle terminals. Circa 1870-1880. 21 3/4" H, 12 1/8" D rim. Very good condition, restoration to a 7" hairline off rear rim, some spots of wear to cobalt and body, small chip to right handle.
