WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA OVERSIZED STENCILED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, stenciled "16" gallon capacity, cylindrical form with a slight shoulder, arched handles, rounded flat-top rim, and Albany-slip glazed interior. Stenciled cobalt "HAMILTON & JONES / GREENSBORO / PA." surrounding scroll ornaments and flanked by wheat, brushed cobalt undulating vine and stripes below rim, additional cobalt at handle terminals.
