Rare Vintage Ilias Lalaounis 18Kt Yellow Gold Cross Motif Long Necklace

Designed as a series of finely crafted openwork cross-motif links, joined by trace-link spacers and completed with a discreet push-piece clasp. Marked 750 and bearing the Lalaounis maker’s mark for Greece. The bold yet elegant design reflects Lalaounis’s revivalist approach, reinterpreting classical and Byzantine forms into timeless contemporary jewelry.

Maker Bio
Ilias Lalaounis (1920–2013) was a celebrated Greek goldsmith and jeweler, renowned for his ability to reinterpret ancient Hellenic, Byzantine, and archaeological motifs into modern fine jewelry. Founding his firm in Athens in the mid-20th century, Lalaounis gained international acclaim, with pieces exhibited in major museums and worn by royalty and cultural figures. His designs, marked by bold sculptural forms and meticulous craftsmanship, remain highly collectible today and exemplify a unique dialogue between antiquity and modernity.
