Mid 18th Century; Original, 29.5” height, 56.5” width, 24.5” depth, very important example appears to be oak and other mixed woods; pegged construction throughout; top is featuring a 15.5” by 21” two-part panel with deeply carved scrolls with center satinwood and ebony star with single star in center; front has beautiful 18th century artwork and inlay; with four 12” by 9.25” raised panels with artwork of lion and bird flanked by geometric inlay; base is also carved with reticulated center heart flanked by two drawers; sides have hand-forged iron bail handle in raised panel also with geometric inlay; interior has incredible original hand-forged strap hinges and engraved lock; complete with glove box; after close inspection, chest appears to be original with engraved key escutcheon, key, and important lock; minor shrinkage, one top panel has crack, drawer fronts are missing molding, otherwise outstanding and original condition; we encourage all advanced collectors to view this here in our gallery, please view photos. We DO offer in house shipping. We DO NOT provide shipping estimates. We at Mebane Antique Auction Gallery, count it a privilege to be able to service our customers through our shipping department. We have and will continue to serve our customers in all 50 states & internationally. ALL items won by bidder will be shipped through the United States Post Office Insured Mail and/or Registered Mail UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED BY BUYER. Buyer is responsible for paying ACTUAL shipping cost (postage AND insurance), which will be added to the buyer’s invoice as soon as the item is ready to be shipped. Some invoices are subject to a $5 to $10 packaging material fee per box. This fee is based on the size, weight and amount of items purchased. There is no charge for labor or transportation to the post office. All items, will be packaged accordingly with USPS shipping standards or standards from which the company providing service. All packages, will be shipped in a timely manner. A timeline for items shipped will not be provided. Items will be shipped in the order paid invoices are received.
