Striking pair of antique figural bookends depicting Abraham Lincoln seated in his iconic chair, after the famous Daniel Chester French sculpture. These heavy cast metal bookends feature a warm bronze finish with fine detailing throughout, from Lincoln’s contemplative expression to the draped coat over the chair and the fluted armrests. The bases are marked “JB 2440” along with a copyright for D.C. French, indicating a period production inspired by the Lincoln Memorial statue. Both pieces retain their original metal backs and show age-appropriate wear, including surface scratches, patina variation, and minor oxidation consistent with vintage use, which only adds to their character. A classic and highly collectible set, ideal for display in a study, library, or as part of a presidential or Americana collection. Approx. dimensions (in): 7 x 4.75 x 4.5.
