- Lot Description
A decorative carved soapstone grouping featuring a seated Guanyin or Buddhist devotional figure on a lotus-form base, paired with a green carved guardian lion/foo dog figure resting on a fitted dark wood stand. The Guanyin figure is carved in a kneeling seated pose with hands held in prayer, with incised robe details and a lotus pedestal base. The companion lion has stylized facial features, carved mane and body details, and sits on a shaped hardwood display stand. Both stone pieces show natural mottled coloration, surface wear, scratches, chips, cracks, old repairs, and scattered discoloration consistent with age and handling. The Guanyin figure has visible cracking and losses around the hands and base, while the lion shows surface wear and age-related imperfections. Approx. dimensions (in): 6 x 4.25 x 3 (Biggest piece).
