- Lot Description
A refined and atmospheric beach scene print by noted Czech artist František Tavík Šimon (1877–1942), signed in the lower right. The composition depicts an elegant seaside gathering with figures relaxing and strolling beneath parasols, anchored by a striking sail form, all rendered in soft, muted tones characteristic of Šimon’s graphic work. Known for his etchings and prints capturing urban and leisure scenes across Europe and beyond, Šimon brings a sense of light, space, and quiet sophistication to this coastal view. The piece is presented in a wood frame with matting and shows age-appropriate toning and light wear, with original backing paper visible on the verso. A desirable example for collectors of early 20th-century European prints and coastal imagery. Approx. frame size (in): 21.5 x 23.5 x 0.5, Approx. etching size (in): 14.25 x 16.25.
