Finished painting in the Louvre, #626 Vol. 2 "La Peinture au Musee du Louvre", oil sketch, finished painting is also mentioned in Ingersoll-Smouse "Pater" #523 where it called "Le Desir de Plaire"

Sight: 17 1/4 x 13 1/4 in. (43.8 x 33.7 cm.), Frame: 23 x 19 in. (58.4 x 48.3 cm.)Condition
Light, scattered surface scratches and abrasions. Small spot of retouch above standing woman working on hair. Minor paint losses around edges. Largest on center right edge and upper right corner. Small spot retouched near other standing woman’s face. Appears to be an unfinished work/sketch. Very minor losses to carved frame. The picture has fairly strong colors and hangs nicely.
