[BASEBALL]. Common Schools of Pennsylvania Teachers? County Certificate. Pennsylvania: October 9, 1862. Teaching certificate with an early engraved depiction of children playing baseball in a schoolyard at the top center. Certificate from Northampton County, certifying that Joseph H. Hess is qualified to teach; countersigned by Abraham Kind (?), County Superintendent. Approximately 6 x 10?. Two later holes at left margin, three vertical and one horizontal creases some toning, edgewear, soiling, light foxing. Good. Rare. From the Mark Rucker Collection.
