New York: Rinehart & Company, Inc., [1953]. 309 pp. Publisher's full black cloth, spine stamped in blue and white, publisher's dust jacket with price torn away. FIRST EDITION OF GRESHAM'S GRITTY LOOK AT THE UNDERBELLY OF CARNIVAL LIFE.
Condition
Light rubbing to binding, fp. and ffep. with upper corners clipped away or worn, text toned; jacket spine toned and worn, jacket panels rubbed with light wear, rear jacket panel toned, edges of flaps toned, one small area of scuffing on jacket verso near spine (not visible on front). Good.
- Provenance
Gresham is best known for his novel, Nightmare Alley (1946). Monster Midway is a non-fiction book, with information about carnies, sideshows, and "freaks."
