Illustrated with 11 color plates and with numerous color decorations throughout. Unpaginated. Publisher's perfect-bound color wrappers, publisher's glassine, with extra suite of 12 plates in 2 states in folding portfolio, with book and portfolio housed in publisher's plain slipcase (minor rubbing to wrappers, minor toning and edgewear to glassine, some wear to portfolio). Fine.FIRST EDITION THUS, #6 OF 25 COPIES PRINTED ON JAPON IMPERIAL PAPER WITH A SUITE OF 12 PLATES IN TWO STATES; THE LIMITATION PAGE CALLS FOR ONE ORIGINAL WATERCOLOR, BUT THIS COPY HAS THREE ORIGINAL WATERCOLORS, ALL SIGNED BY CARR?. Carr? was an important French Orientalist artist, perhaps best known for his illustrations for The Book of One Thousand and One Nights and a Night.
