[CHROMOLITHOGRAPHS]. GRAY, Thomas (1716-1771). An Elegy Written in a Country Churchyard. London: Sampson Low, Son, and Marston, 1869. Small folio. Illustrated with 16 chromolithographs including frontispiece. Two leaves of facsimile manuscript. [16] leaves. Bound by Birdsall in near contemporary half blue morocco over blue cloth boards, spine ruled, tooled, and lettered in gilt in compartments, five raised bands, top edge gilt, marbled endleaves, original cloth of front board and spine bound-in at rear (light rubbing to binding, minor toning to edges of endleaves). Fine. FIRST EDITION THUS, WITH ILLUSTRATIONS AFTER R. BARNES, R. P. LEITCH, E. M. WIMPERIS, AND OTHERS. From the Collection of Louis A. Irmo. Measurements: 10 x 8 x 1".
