[DOYLE, Arthur Conan (1859-1930), contributor]. The Fate of Fenella. Edited by J.S. Wood. New York: Cassell Publishing Company, [1892].8vo. Original light grey cloth blocked and lettered in black, upper cover inlaid with a diagonal paper label imitating a newspaper cutting (some light spotting, spine slightly skewed).FIRST AMERICAN EDITION. ?The Fate of Fenella was the brain-child of J.S. Wood, the editor and proprietor of the Gentlewoman. Each author wrote a chapter and passed it on to the next, so there was no collaboration in the usual sense? (Green and Gibson). Doyle?s chapter was titled ?Between Two Fires? (pp. 41-50). Green and Gibson C1c.
