- Lot Description
Drinking Frenchman Automaton. [J. H. Animations, ca. 1970s.] Frenchman doll in cloth costume and beret and scarf on wooden base, with realistic hair, eyebrows, and moustache. When plugged in, he raises his right hand to his mouth, his head tips back and then swivels (apparently his right hand had originally held a glass, simulating drinking). Working. Approximately 32 x 13 x 13". Maker's mark on base behind figure. Likely an in-store or window advertising device.
Condition
Some general wear, soiling, cracking, figure's left hand has French currency taped onto it. Very good.
