[HOLLYWOOD AUTOGRAPHS]. [ROTHACKER, Watterson (1885-1960), association]. Guest Book for the Ranch Owned by Film Industrialist Watterson Rothacker, Signed or Inscribed by Numerous Hollywood Luminaries. [Ca. 1930s-40s]. 4to. Approximately 200 blank pages, 92 of which have signatures or inscriptions by Rothacker's guests. With signatures on rectos and versos. Approximately 10 ? x 8". Bound in contemporary full green calf on padded boards, front board with black and red leather onlays, stamped in gilt (spine and boards sunned, spine heavily worn, some edgewear to boards, front hinge cracked, a few gutters overopened). Good.AN INCREDIBLE COLLECTION OF AUTOGRAPHS ? SOME HOLLYWOOD FIGURES WHO SIGNED INCLUDE: WALT DISNEY, LILLIAN DISNEY, RALPH BELLAMY, WILL HAYS, JOAN BENNET, JESSE LASKY, NIGEL BRUCE, WILLIAM POWELL, RONALD REAGAN, JEANETTE MACDONALD, AMELIA EARHART, MARY PICKFORD, LORETTA YOUNG, GLORIA SWANSON, RAYMOND MASSEY, HOWARD WOOLVERTON, BING CROSBY, THEDA BARA, HAL ROACH, BORIS LOVET-LORSKI (ORIGINAL DRAWING) AND MORE. Offered with 3 real photo postcards of the Rothacker Ranch (pencil notes on versos). An incredible find. Watterson Rothacker founded one of the earliest film processing labs, Rothacker Film Manufacturing, in 1919. He also co-produced several films, including The Lost World (1925). He hosted many of his friends and business associates at his ranch in Hidden Valley, Ca; this book is that ranch's guest book. Full list (of legible signatures) available by request.
