HOUDINI, Harry (Erik Weisz, 1874 - 1926). Houdini Padded Cell Suit Challenge. Leeds: John Waddington Ltd., 1920. Letterpress handbill challenge issued to Houdini by a group of ex-police constables, suggesting he will be unable to release himself from a "punishment suit," a straitjacket-like restraint. 5 x 7 1/2". Scrapbook remnants to verso. Provenance: Collection of Beatrice Houdini, passed to the consignor by descent.
