MORTIMER, William Golden (1854-1933). Peru. History of Coca. ?The Divine Plant? of the Incas. New York: J.H. Vail & Company, 1901. FIRST EDITION of ?the greatest work ever published on the coca plant and the history of its use by the Incas and their descendants. Researched on the active principle, cocaine, is documented from its isolation in 1859 to the end of the 19th century (Phantastica 194). A Horowitz high spot.
