[PALMOLOGY]. GOCLENIUS, Rudolph (1547?1628). Physignomica et Chiromantica Speciala. Hamburg: Johann Naumann, 1661. 8vo. Title printed in red and black with printer?s device, 16 woodcuts in text, woodcut head? and tail? pieces. Contemporary vellum with later morocco label lettered in gilt (soiling); marbled endpapers (offsetting). Provenance: ?Hugo? (bookplate). Rudolph Goclenius was a German scholastic philosopher who is credited with expanding greatly upon the ideas of the ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle.
