He was listed as: wounded 7/1/1863 Gettysburg, PA. and Mustered Out on 8/1/1864 at Boston, MA. Autograph Letter signed “S.H.Leonardâ€, datelined: Camp near Fletcher Chapel Va., February 28, 186. In full, “I take pleasure in recommending for promotion Corpl’ Geo H. Hill of Co. B, 13th Mass Regt who is a good disciplinaniarn and a good solder.†... plus, Discharge Document, 8-1/2†x 11â€, issued for George H. Hill as Corporal of Co. B, 13th Mass Vols, May 21, 1865. George H. Hill enlisted on 7/27/1861 as a Priv. into "B" Co. Massachusetts 13th Vols. He was listed as: POW 7/1/1863 Gettysburg, POW 5/6/1864 Wilderness, VA., Confined 5/10/1864 Andersonville, GA. and Exchanged 3/8/1865 Annapolis, MD. and was Mustered Out on 4/17/1865.
