organ Samuel Price (born 1947) is an internationally acclaimed American Impressionist and master plein air painter known for her sophisticated mastery of light and atmosphere. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, and raised in New Smyrna Beach, Florida, she began her formal training at age 15 and later graduated from Ringling College of Art and Design in 1968. Her career transitioned from professional illustration for Hallmark Cards and art direction in Ohio to a dedicated fine art practice in 1972. Price is particularly celebrated for her "numerical science" approach to painting—famously identifying 22 distinct decisions made with every brushstroke—and her significant impact as an educator, having authored two books and established a thriving arts scene in Ardmore, Oklahoma, during the 1970s. Often referred to as "Florida’s Painter," she is a Fellow of the American Artist Professional League and a member of prestigious organizations like the Salmagundi Club and the American Society of Marine Artists. Today, she continues to lead workshops globally and operates the Gallery on Park in Winter Park, Florida.
