Thomas Blinks (1853-1910) American, Equestrian Photogravure Print "Top Waves". Framed, monochrome equestrian print depicting a man in formal riding attire viewed from behind as he sits atop a horse on a rural path, looking out toward a distant landscape.
Overall Size: 32 x 23 1/2 in.
Sight Size: 22 1/2 x 15 in.
Thomas Blinks (1853–1910) was a British painter best known for his detailed and lively depictions of animals, particularly dogs and horses. Working in the late Victorian and Edwardian periods, he gained popularity for sporting and hunting scenes that captured the character and energy of his subjects with careful realism and rich color. Blinks frequently portrayed hounds, terriers, and other pedigree dogs, often set in stable interiors or outdoor rural settings, reflecting Britain’s strong sporting culture of the time. His work was exhibited at major venues including the Royal Academy of Arts, and today his paintings remain sought after for their charm, technical skill, and vivid portrayal of animal life.
