St. Lawrence Island, Alaska, circa 200 B.C. - 100 A.D., carved from walrus tusk, with a trunk-like body and ovoid head, flattened back, the face marked by slit mouth, and slightly raised nose, with long vertical stretch marks on the torso, mounted on a custom wood and metal base. Ht. 5 7/8 in.
