About the Artist: Dawa Thulong was born in Tibet and is a master Thangkha painter whose work merges the traditions of Tibetan thangka painting and Newar paubha art. Thulong began studying thangka painting at the age of twelve and later refined his practice under the guidance of renowned paubha master Mukti Singh Thapa through the American Himalayan Project. His art is distinguished by its careful attention to composition and color, reflecting both devotion to tradition and an openness to innovation. Thulong’s career has spanned painting, teaching, and craft, rooted in a lifelong commitment to Tibetan artistic heritage.
Shipping costs will be determined by The Tibet Fund after a winning bidder has won an art work. The winning bidder will be responsible for any shipping costs. Winners in attendance at The Tibet Fund Gala on October 23, 2025 will have the option of taking any won artworks home with them upon payment. Winners in the New York City area will also have the option of picking up the artwork at The Tibet Fund office in Manhattan during business hours.
