Details: Forest Buddha, Ink Pen on Linen, 21.6" x 29.5", 2025
Description: Karma Phuntsok’s Forest Buddha is a deceptively simple yet richly detailed ink on linen depiction of the Buddha sitting in a lush, tropical forest, his hands placed in the Dhyana Mudra pose, known as the gesture of meditation and a powerful symbol within Buddhism that represents the deep concentration and introspection that lead to the Buddha’s enlightenment. This beautiful original work by Phuntsok combines the artist’s rich impressionistic style with a quiet, almost meditative Buddhist devotion.
About the Artist: Karma Phuntsok is a Tibetan-Australian artist whose work offers a vibrant and contemporary interpretation of traditional Buddhist thangka painting. Trained in Nepal under a master thangka painter, Phunstok has spent decades exploring the intersection of sacred imagery and modern expression.
