Details: Teashop and Caravan by the Lake, Signed Limited Edition #11/100, Print on Cotton Canvas, 15” x 23” (matted), 2008
Description: Set against a serene winter backdrop, this limited edition print of Norbu's evocative painting captures a caravan navigating through the snow on its way to trade in Tibet. Meanwhile, another group pauses to enjoy tea by the tranquil waters of Phoksundo Lake, preparing for the arduous journey over the mountain pass. The artwork subtly incorporates endangered Himalayan wildlife, including blue sheep and a snow leopard, perched on the rocky outcrops above the lake, reminding viewers of the fragile balance between human endeavor and the natural world. This piece reflects the resilience of both the caravans and the wildlife, offering a poignant glimpse into the challenges and beauty of life in this remote region.
