Model: Model 1841 Carbine

Barrel length: 13 in. (cut-dwon)
OAL: 29 in.
Condition: Good-Antique; wood stock has wear commensurate w/ age; dings, scratches, dents; barrel has brown patina w/ light scattered rust/pitting; lockplate has mostly gray patina w/ faint case colors remaining; brass fittings have moderate wear & patina; bore is mostly bright w/ some light pitting; strong rifling
Includes: ramrod; 4 lead bullets in patch compartment on right side of stock
Marked: lockplate is marked "E. WHINEY / U.S." forward of the hammer and "N.HAVEN / 1850" BEHIND THE HAMMER; barrel is marked "US / SM / V / P" and "STEEL" on left barrel flat, also small "M" on left barrel flat; "US" mark on buttplate tang; "W" on barss parts; "GW" cartouche and "WAT" (William A. Thornton) cartouche on left side of stock; "1850" marked on upper tang
