Vintage Mexican (Guerrero) folk art Danza de la Tigre (dance of the tiger/jaguar) mask, hand-painted and stitched stiff leather construction with rubber details, mirrored eyes, and boar hair bristles, circa early-to-mid-20th century
height 12 in. x width 13 in. x depth 13 in.
Provenance: The Estate collection of late teacher and humanitarian Douglas Rhodenbaugh, from his historic downtown Austin, Texas home. Mr. Rhodenbaugh spent decades traveling throughout Latin America assuming his vast collection of folk and fine arts, often buying pieces directly from the artisans he met on his travels.
