BRANFORD, CONN. – New England Auctions announces the launch of eHammer Auctions, a new online-only timed auction platform offering American furniture, folk art, decorative objects, collectibles, and other well-chosen finds at accessible price points. eHammer is designed to invite both experienced collectors and new enthusiasts to the world of acquiring distinctive objects through auction. eHammer’s inaugural auction begins Monday, October 12 and concludes Thursday, October 29. The sale features more than 240 lots drawn primarily from New England estates, including American folk art and carvings, stoneware, painted baskets and boxes, gameboards, furniture, and an assortment of collectible objects.

While its sales are priced to be accessible, eHammer curates its auctions with the same critical eye and attention to detail as those offered through its flagship house, New England Auctions. Every lot is evaluated by knowledgeable staff, every description is written in-house, and every item is professionally photographed. Built on the principle that good objects deserve good auctions, eHammer gives this material an audience of its own, held to the same standards buyers have come to expect from New England Auctions.

Leading the inaugural sale this October, is an American hooked rug, circa 1890, followed by painted surfaces throughout the sale, including a late 19th century checkers gameboard in green, yellow and black from the collection of Bruce and Doranna Wendel, joined by a Ouija board in original paint, circa 1900. Furniture includes a New England Chippendale slant-front desk in figured maple with bracket feet, a mid-19th century country hutch table, and a splay leg tavern table in old blue paint from the Stonington, Connecticut area, circa 1750. Decorated tole, cast iron, stoneware and redware, weathervanes, decoys and folk carvings round out the offerings.
The sale will be conducted as a timed auction online through eHammer Auctions and the Bidsquare platform, with lots beginning to close on Thursday, October 29 at 6:00 p.m. EDT. Bidders may pre-register for the auction now at ehammerauctions.com. Consignors with material suited to eHammer are invited to submit photographs through the website for review. eHammer Auctions is a division of New England Auctions, 16 Business Park Drive, Branford, Connecticut.
