Painting depicting a young male and female couple in a garden setting wearing fine 18th century dress, the female seated beside a marble urn on pedestal holding her companion's hat as he stands to right with hand over heart speaking to her with a book in his other hand, possibly orating poetry, the pair situated on a dirt path with a basket of flowers to the woman's side. Framed approximately 24.875" x 18.75", unframed approximately 17.875" x 11.875".
