Native American, Southwestern United States, Dine (Navajo), ca. mid 20th century CE. A traditional squash blossom necklace hand-crafted from high-grade silver and turquoise, signed by Navajo artisan Victor Hicks. The piece is composed of spherical bench beads (silver content tested at approx. 89%) interspaced with classic squash blossom elements, all strung on a sturdy chain with a hook-and-loop clasp. At the center hangs an arched naja pendant, its verso stamped "STERLING V. HICKS," suspending a teardrop-shaped turquoise cabochon framed in a twisted rope border.
