The top flat of the barrel is marked Kentucky , along with the standard Ballard's patent, Ball & Williams and Merwin & Bray markings. Walnut stock and forearm, with sling swivels on the barrel band and the underside of the butt. With crescent buttplate.
The barrel retains most of the original blue finish, with some small areas of fading. The frame has a mottled plum and dark patina. The forearm has some light handling marks, and the comb of the butt has a crack, with some slight separation on the right where it meets the frame. The bore and mechanics are excellent.
