Half-length portrait of a Black nanny holding a white child. Sixth plate hand-tinted ambrotype. Full leatherette case.
A fine image of an elderly Black nanny gently holding her charge. Her greying hair is held back in a bonnet with floral embellishments. The cheeks of both subjects have been delicately enhanced by the colorist's deft tinting.
