The Late General "Stonewall" Jackson. woven silk Stevengraph. Coventry, [England]: T. Stevens. Maker's mark to verso. 2 1/8 x 8 1/2 in.
A highly presentable Stevengraph memorial ribbon honoring Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson (1824-1863). Developed in 1862 by Thomas Stevens, Stevengraphs used adapted Jacquard looms used in Coventry to weave colorful and detailed pictures from silk.
A well-preserved example.
